While I do think this article is a bit over-reactionary... I do think it's a slippery slope. Certainly there's no reason for 1959 and it should not be passed.

I would like to read this act, I used to know where to go to be able to read them but I forget where exactly. I've read a few articles on the subject, but none pointed out specific text in it that they felt could or would be misused.

Thank you for this thread. Look what I read here:

"(3) The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens."
    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-1955

    Dang that Internet!!!:)

So pretty much under the pretext that the internet promotes free speech they want to censor it. Great! Why don't we all stast swapping our hearts and minds for government pre-programmed thinking and feeling modules and that should take care of everything.

I'll die before I do that. I'm not a coward. But you surely sound like one.

This is a very dangerous bill. The war on civil liberties like free speech, and now apparently free thought is well underway.

19 Terrorists = End of the Republic.

They should only ban specific credible threats. Otherwise, they play games where they throw people in jail for their thought "crimes." You put people like David Irving in jail, you just make him more popular and make people wonder why the government is afraid of him.
