Even if DP is banned from the AdSense program (which I doubt) I'm sure with the contacts Shawn will have through certain avenues, he could cut some deal with an advertisement firm and repossess the revenue in a different format.

Hell, DP being banned could be a good thing, considering he is one of the top AdSense earners, it will give him some publicity and press coverage.

I'd say to dump Google Adsense. We're running Adsense and Adbrite and we are getting more cash from Google Adsense; which doesn't surprise me. Adbrite is just so awesome.

Hmm, a bit harder to pressume that when this forum is estimated to make over $10,000/month from AdSense alone, probably more now. He will have to decide an alternative carefully (that's assuming he is doing that anyway :p).

yup... Shawn needs to post one of those, "I've been banned... I am innocent" threads and the rest of us need to be posting "Adsense is a SCAM" threads. :p

If it's the account that is banned, won't the % of the loads when the Adsense shows someone else's Adsense account (revenue sharing) still show up?
I think too that it's "forums." subdomain which is blocked, no idea why though.

after reading some mixed comments from members, i did my best to find out whats wrong with DP Forum ads.

If anyone has Google preview tool and know how to use it effectively to identify a banned domain, you can check it yourself.

    1) Download google adsense preview tool
    2) Reg it on your machine.
    3) Now visit DP forums.
    4) Right click Google adsense preview tool.
    5) This should display some ads but it doesnt.

Unfortunately, when the domain doesnt display any ads it means the domain is banned for whatever reason.

your info is WAY off...they paid 78.5% to publishers the last time they released that info (early 2006). the owner of DP was actually quoted in the NYTimes article that had that info.

    DP aint banned by adsense.
#1 if you load a dp ad code to your pc and look you see the ads displaying. the url is in the ad code, so if the url was banned, the ads wont show on your desktop.
#2 the ads went at the same time the database server went down, and bugs/errors started to happen when the site came back online,
#3 at the same time, the profile website thumbnails failed to appear on our profiles, they still do not show.
#4 the database controls the adsense code so you can not have your own ads display and then be clicked by yourself, for fear of being banned for clicking on your own ads by adsense. so it stands to reason to disable the ads if the system is unstable, as it is just now.
#5 the loss of one of the 2 database servers, means there is an extra load on the one that is being used just now, untill the other can be replaced, would it now also stand to reason to disable things that are database heavy users? like every page loaded has to call random adsense accounts, without you yourself being at risk of yours being called.

#6 why is everyone acting like little old ladies with nothing better to do than speculate over what the bishop seen? gossiping like little old ladies is so unbecoming for so called intelligent webmasters.

#7 google welcomed the revenue sharing and even credits DP for starting it.

#8 dp does not sell links, so the link sales are not against adsesne TOS, note i say adsense and not google? both adsense and google have their own different TOS

#9 there is no porn content on DP so also no violation of adsense TOS.

#10 call yourselves webmasters? and you cant distinguish the difference between adsense and googles TOS

    you make me laugh.

now stop acting like grannies and get some work done.

DP was using thumbnails provided by girafa for MSN. They wernt really for DP or anyone else to use. Its probably got something to do with the DP ad sharring settings or something. Shawn mentioned he was going on vacation so probably doesnt know.

you saying you work for google? ha ha ha wake up it's only a wet dream
    google dont employ idiots.

    lol have you heard yourself?
how pathetic that sounds, like 3 years worth and adsense only just found what was being said in the P&R forum?

you would sound more convincing if you say DP was banned because of all the negative comments about google in the google forums. that would be more believable than any of the drivel being churned up in this thread.

unfortunately with the changing circumstances, this doesnt hold any good. Are you aware of revenue sharing API? Google clearly wanted ONLY those websites with proper API to start revenue sharing.

The current method used by DP isnt full proof. The way it works with API is lot different and google is not comfortable with impression being shared across the users.

If you want i can explain how revenue sharing API works or should i write a ebook? lol. every tom dick and harry does it on DP. lol
