Why do those 2 topics make so many enemies?

Because people are so sure they are right about those topics, they can't understand how anyone could think anything else. Religious and political beliefs may as well be laws of physics... Unbreakable and infallible.

    WTF!?

Mike, they're both things people are obviously very passionate about. Religion for many people is a very large part of their lives. The same is true with politics.

The different religions and political affiliations have different core beliefs and that's where the problems arise.

I really don't give a damn about either one so...

This is the case to a person who feels very strongly one way.

The biggest problem with religion is that when a person believes one they refuse to consider the possibilities of the others. Religion in general has also caused a lot of hate througout history and currently.

As for politics - it's another subject people become close minded about. Personally I don't care what side wins because both of them are screwing over the people. Oh yeh...

George Bush doesn't care about black people! :D

Disagreements about things people are passionate about can get pretty ugly.

Just look at the "War v. Anti War" thread. :p

The reason so many people are fanatical about religion is because for those people it's engrained in their life. Most religions have very little leniency. It’s all black or all white, no shades of gray. Most religions state that you should put your religion above everything: your family and your own life.

A lot of people treat politics the way they treat religion. It’s a way of life and apart of them. You disagree and it’s an attack on who they are as a person.

I really don’t care about either one, as well.

Ppl are afraid of the unknow--Religion means different things to differnt ppl-personaly i don't beleive in religion -- i will stick with being a christian.

Political is ppl trying to prove there point to others who see things differntly and it offends them......just my 2 cents.

Coz every party doesn't want to hear other's side as much as they wanted to be heard.
