    I'm just wondering how many people actually visit a website as a direct result of an avatar / user image, that they saw?


    I see that alot of people buy and sell avatar space and I am just curious as to everyone's opinion on how useful of a practice this is. I have not yet bought or sold avatar space but am considering trying it out.

    I know that buying and selling signature links is useful from my own personal experience. It gets you both backlinks and traffic. I myself click signature links from time to time but I have never visited a site because I saw it displayed in a user avatar.

    What do you all think? Do you visit websites advertised in user avatars? Does it create alot of traffic? Does it creat a big buzz? Or do you just like to see your logo everywhere.. LOL

    it creates a brand recognition! when i see an avatar everywhere, i do try check out the site, too many avatars sure makes a buzz!!:)

    If i see a lot of avatar promotion or if the avatar is catching - I do..
    Infact avatar advertising is a great way to build BUZZ :cool:

    If the avatar is really interested or from a member I like, I might check it out. I definitely think avatars give websites more exposure.

    No, I don't. Some people sell avatar space - to be honest it's a waste of money and I don't take notice of Website links in avatars. The only thing I would do occasionally is click on a link in a signature. I think the main reason why is because avatars aren't directly clickable, and us humans won't take the time to open a new tab and type the URL in. I think I may have done this once, but only if its something I really am looking for.

    The problem is that they are not live links unlike sig links so yes sometimes it is annoying but if it is really attractive and heavily promoted then ....

    I do. The avatar must be well designed- plain ones won't entice one to type the site into the browser. If mass promotion is done, then I might visit the site just to check what it is all about after being bombarded by avatars that praise it.

    Only if I respect that person and have talked to them then yes I might take a look at their ava. Normally i would never do so.
