Who sells the cheapest .com names

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by lazukars, Nov 29, 2007.

I know that there is godaddy.com, but was wondering if anyone knows a company that could meet the following criteria.

1.) The Company has had to be around for over a year. Two preferably.
2.) They must offer .com domain names for under $5. This can not be some special offer but is just how much they offer there .coms for.
    3.) Offer renewals for $5.

I realize that this company might not exist, but if it does please post it here.

    Sincerely,
    Ryan

$5 is under the minimum that ICANN charges registrars for .com...you'll never find a company that sells them that cheap that isn't a promotion ;)...

(i do believe that the current ICANN/VeriSign price for registrars is $6.42)...

No one can offer you $5 per domain. Godaddy required at least $7.19 for a .com domain too. Even the company offer cheaper price which is name.com and mydomain.com required $6~7. You can try yahoo and netfirms but please note that you can't push your domain to other account.

you might find in the secondary market..

People sell their unwanted domains for cheap (i saw for 5$ here) instead of renewing them for 10$ or cancelling them.

Stay away from netfirms, yahoo will drain your time & energy if you want to transfer but fine for a cheap first year. Name.com have been popular lately. I would suggest paying a little more at a decent register like Mydomain.com, Moniker, Namecheap or Dotster.com etc

How about Yahoo and Netfimrs.... Yahoo charges $1.99 and Netfirms charges 5.99$ but both of them charges $9.95 from second year onwards.... but you can trasfer the domain to another host before that..... thats what am doing now..... Or I would recommend StartLogic.com they charge only $6.5.... for all times but I dont knnow whether they alllow domain registration onlyl......

You can try www.name.com. I think they have this promo now at $4.99 but i could be wrong. It used to be $5.99. What I like name.com is the simple user friendly interface and the private whois feature.

Whoever you use just make sure that you will be able to transfer the name and that there are no other limitations on the use of transfer of the name that your register. Also some say that the first 10 names are at the cheap price then all others are at a higher price. Just be sure to read everything.

    Yes, stay away from Yahoo!

But NetFirms? I love Netfirms man, I have over 50 domains with them, and besides it's the only one that doesn't charge extra for domain privacy. GoDaddy is shit. Netfirms is fast, cheap, and their service/support is awesome. I only use them for domains though, I host elsewhere.

I wholeheartedly recommend them to any person who is serious about buying domains.

    Yes, Yahoo sucks.

If you want cheap & reputable, so far Name.com for $5.99 has been very good

I have 1 domain with Netfirms. For me they support is so-so. The only cons for netfirms is I can't push my domain to others, unless transfer.

Dreamhost is really cheap especially if you use their coupon code of MDDR in the Special Promo Code area. Cuts like $90 off of purchase.
