Traffic is a major issue for me. I have tried commenting on other blogs, submitting to directories and social bookmarking sites and particpating in forums but it is stil only 3 or 4 vistors per day, on a good day. I have tried better content, at first it wasn't the best but I think that it has improved.

Traffic is all about Contents + Marketing. A good contents and great marketing skills and methods will bring in the traffic.

These are the cores of traffic but not many succeeded in doing this. Either people are good in writing but lazy to market their contents or over-marketing by driving first-time visitors to a pile of under par contents.

im up to around 100 uniques a day. i started two different late october and both are performing quite well. what i do is a mixture of blog commenting and networking. joining mybloglog and visiting other peoples blogs helps too. posting in forums and running several small contests helped. I think its about trying new things. And of course keep posting. most of my traffic comes from forums, myblog log, and other peoples blogs. i get some from search engines but because my site is still young i'll have to wait for the search to grow. you have to make sure that you are submitted to the search engines and make sure you have a sitemap. more info can be found at http://www.bloggernoob.com

Cool, thanks. I haven't concentrated much on SEO when I post to my blog, but I think I am going to pay more attention. Anything for a traffic boost.

Do get me wrong, SEO helps with traffic. It helps tremendously. But the two most important things that you can do are to write quality content that benefits the reader and to put somewhere that they can easily find it. I know that people say the same thing over and over to the point that it sounds clie'che but it is true.

If you've been blogging for months and only have a handful of visitors coming through per day, then you either aren't writing interesting enough content to warrant people to read it, put it in a place where potential visitors can easily find it, or a combination of those two things.

Most of my traffic is from Google. So, the more content you add, the better result you will get.

But use BloggingZoom, it's for bloggers and created to drive Google and direct traffic to you. You can submit your own post. I made 4 post about then since the launch in November. My little blog get more traffic since I started to used them.

If you really want to get high quality traffic just create a good content with interesting topic. Topic that can get the attention of your visitors. Better if your content could share good information. This would let your visitors to come back again every time you update your blog or they might link to your content. Try to optimized also the content with your targeted keywords to rank in SE.
