Well I guess it's up to what you can afford. I have the Pro Bundle and I am quite satisfied with it. The only risk you run is getting one of the older models that was made before they started fixing known issues. My boyfriend and I each got Pro bundles and his 360 is way different than mine. I got mine a lot later than he did and I have a better power cord and brick on my 360. He had to send his in for the red ring of death problem too. I haven't. So, if you have the money, go for the Elite. Not half as many problems as the original models. But, even with the problems I think any 360 is worth it!!!

    One Word For You.... DONT

Get a ps3, I own both and the PS3 is way better! And no im not a fanboy of either, but its way better! The ps3 never dies and the 360 will need to be repaired 2-3 times per year ( STINKS )

Trust me you wont be unhappy with the PS3!

gee, I wonder why I created a thread about the xbox and NOT THE PS3. I hate the playstation, which is why I'm getting a 360.

I am not asking for opinions for which system they think is better.

I have an HD dvd player already that comes with my 5.1 sound system, so I won't be needing the additional HD DVD player.

    thx for the tip

I wouldn't go as far to say that I'm rich, I'm just well off and I have a well paying job.

I've been waiting 6 months to buy all this stuff anyway, so it's something I've been researching for quite a while.

and thx for the tip on that compare page, I think I'll go with the elite on this one :)

I am in the same situation you are. I'm looking at the arcade version, since it is hella cheaper. No way would I blow $500 on an xbox.

I think MS upped the warranty on the Xbox 360 to 3 years, so no worries about problems. Also, I'd recommend you buy it in a store like I am doing- so you can check the model number.

Apparently the Zephyr model is the one that is having so many problems. The newer falcon model is supposedly fixed.

EDIT: I just noticed the arcade model doesn't come with a hard drive...wth?

    Scratch that, upgrade to premium..

    can anyone else confirm this?

Actually that is a questionable thought!

While the 360 does have more games right now, in no time the PS3 will well out do the 360 with # and quality! Sony is the best and always will be/

Sorry I just couldnt resist :D

BTW, what about buying a 360 at your local game store? Why online?

Actually you didnt research right then, you got games like Drakes Fortune Uncharted, Killzone 2, and many others that outway the 360 by far. Check it out on gamespot.com I check them all the time so...

    And no MGS4 for Xbox360!

BUT that's not the point. He quite obviously doesn't want to know which system, he is decided. The only question is which model. I would go with the elite.

And no it won't break 2 - 3 times per year as gotlinks said. I've had mine over a year and it's fine. Sure, it will probably break at some point (unless the new elites have fixed the problem, which I think they have), which is horrible for consumer trust, but it's not going to break that much, and if it does, it's under warranty anyway...for 3 years.

I wish my 360 had never broke! In just 8 months mine has broken 3 times all the same problem and all have needed repair. It was repaired during holidays to which really stinks.

Anyways, I am out sorry for cluttering the thread my bad totally.
