    Hello....

Last i heard he was in the tropics drinking pinacoladas and chasing mini skirts :p

Actually this place has become quit boresome with the same questions and topics so
that might be the reason why most have rolled out of here... :)

First time i heard of him, and i was going to drop chris a pm but noticed he does not even login, so did not bother, and thought maybe others knew where he disappeared to. afterall that dude put lots of money in lots of folks pocket here on dp, so he surely can surely be noticed missing i would say.

@Malcom ur still here, why have u not left if same boring threads have started to roll out ?

From what i sense google's wrath has a lot to do with directory owners avoiding dp, cause from what i heard google traced/picked targets from DP itself.

what can i say some habits die hard... :p

I dont think Googles wrath has much to do with it to be honest...
but maybe all those threads demanding him to explain himself after what happened
and the comments people where leaving might have had an impact on his decision.

    truthfully i dont know...
cause he isnt on yahoo messenger as much as he used to be but i still see he is advertising his sites so...

But thiers many that dont... !ASK!,jeff, chris, duval and many many others

    thx

Actually i think some of the following reasons may contribute:

    1. Nobody releases as many mods and shares them out as much.
This makes sense as uniqueness adds quality to what your providing.

    2. Nobody has a clue what is happening anymore so it becomes increasingly more difficult to discuss things if you dont know whats happening.

    3. Some people feel so self important that about a dozen in the last few months felt the need to announce their withdrawal from using the forums as much.

    4. I personally think people are a lot more weary of each other and more cautious, never know whos watching you and what your saying.

    5. Everything that people thought was so, isn't :)

    6. This place is fine and has no more problems or annoying threads than any other place, over the years ive visited, writing, music, webmaster, domaining, mobile phone forums and more and they all have the same things going on, DP isn't exclusive with any problem threads or people.

    7. A forum should only be part of your working day anyway.

    8. Less money coming in (at times) from directories, so less egos, confidence, and less to work with in general, possibly scuppering some plans that were in the pipeline.

    Care to add any? :)

I remember some fights that seemed like those in P&R or worse. I know I felt disgusting while reading those and I did not participate. If I felt disgusting just reading those threads than I guess I understand why some people left.

YaA : Too much of pipe maybe, drug abuse can lead to withdrawal from forums.

But i was more worried that chris might have had a heart attack or something seeing all his investment go down the drain thanks to mr . G.

:) your still convinced i smoke crack or take hits from the bong. :)

Regarding investment and loss, it happens to the best of them, from a one man show to a large corporation but often it can be good as it results in a shakeup of everything and the person ends up covering all their loss and then some.

    Malcolm, thanks for cooment. :)

Yeah, he was active in e-business long time before directories (I remember that) why should it be different now?
People like him always find good place to make business.
    I also moved little bit:
1 - to my old business which is software developing
2 - to my new business which I can't share here

Also still active in directories from time to time - only if people find my services useful.

Hes still on yahoo messenger every day.

He has no reason to visit DP - he doesnt like the atmosphere here, can do business elsewhere. Also he has stopped promoting his directories as much so doesnt need to come buy sig links etc.

He is one of 30+ members who left DP. There is nothing useful in the directories forum other newbie questions, stupid threads like this and trolled threads where people come slag paid directory owners off.

I personally think there are useful threads still, so called newbie questions deserved to be answered, sure some come in to take the p*ss but their not all doing that.

Should never forget how anyone started off, if someone asks a question, answer it if you can, if you dont know, just leave the thread as is.

Theres no atmosphere on a forum, nor online at all, its impossible. :)

Unless your not involved at all in a particular business anymore, you should always stick around, its a bad idea to become invisible when circumstances lead to a change, speak to people and mix and stay on the scene to stay on level with others.

That way if things change for the better in the future then people remember you for that, you stayed around when it was all messy, came out the other end clean and stayed in touch with your customers and community.

Mix with your enemies, its healthy. ;)

I think mods recently keep a very tight check over the whole forum, ive seen lots and lots banned, looks like a lot of cleaning out, more than before.
