I would say that not one person would turn down this off so it means that pr obviously means something. Just because a former employee of google says something it doesnt mean that hes telling the truth does it?;)

Google claims really aren't an obligatory religion. Experiment tells more.

I've never worried about PR when building my sites =\ The PR never affected my traffic or revenue much tbh.

PR might not directly mean anything, but having a higher PR is a good indicator that your SERP will be better.

    Hi,
Funny story. But I don't think you understood what she said.
She said that your website's PR isn't going to affect the SERPs.
This isn't the same as selling and buying links based on PR is a stupid idea!
If you got a backlink to your story from a PR10 page (with the right anchor text) it will probably get you listed higher on the SERP than if the backlink is from a PR0 site.
I'm not asking you to beleive me but Matt Cutts:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1756437348670651505 (one of many links i could give you!)

    Now! Please leave this.

to tell you honestly i don't focus on getting high pr i am focusing on getting my keywords rank in the top ten of the serp in 3 major search engine. pr dont give you quality pr gives you quality trades because most webmaster or seo still believes that pr is the rank on how relevant your site regarding what niches your site has. pr wont be created if it has no purposes. so for me pr is one factor to determine the quality of sites that you have so i dont agree with you that pr is worth nothing.

MOVI.. Thanks for the intel... Very interesting considering a ton of people do sell PR related links and sites at a higher value becuase they stress that the PR is such a major advantage when it isn't. To me this is old news but glad to see someone really speaking out that worked for Google. Just like landing pages. Some have stated that using landing pages can hurt your rating lol BS... I know from experience that it works. I built over 25,000 landing pages for a dot com venture that brought in serious traffic and revenue!

Really PR is nothing traffic is every thing. And now days I just hear one rumor or something about VR.

PR will disappear and VR will come

    PR: page rank
    VR: visitor rating

Yes, you are right. What matter most is traffic but you must understand that people are trying to get traffic from search engines which need many quality back links for his site. How to know if one site has many quality back links? PR is one of the answers. Get it?

    VR: good topic.
For the sites using analytics, G can also have a pseudo VR. He can use info collected (time on site, depth of links, etc..) to estimate it.
