    Hey all...

I am a bit afraid to get kicked from Google Adsense. I tried to see my compititors to get them into the filter and suddenly I saw google reports a lot of clicks...

How can I make sure I am not going to be banned? What other ways I should use to follow my competitors URL in order to put them into the filter.

    I appriciate any help ...

    Thanks!

    Guy.

AdSense has a great Help system which includes many FAQs. Including one about Competitive Ad Filters which the whole bottom half of the page is dedicated to 'Finding the Ad URL'.

If it is not too late yet, login to your account from another isp and visit sites you visit often.
It is not the end of the world anyway. Try ypn, or change your name, address, ssn, site, gender, lifestyle..

You can use the Google preview tool. It will display ads likely to be shown on any given page, you can click those links without fear.

I'd email AS support and tell them what you have done and beg for mercy. :)

 That's a lot of trouble to go through only to be kicked out again in a few months if it happens again...

I clicked on an ad by accident once. Honesty is the best policy. I quickly emailed them and they were cool about it.

I'd never email them about 1 click... i mean come on they know mistakes happen. Click fraud is when you do it repeatadly over and over.... Ie my brother clicked on an ad today. I told him id kick his ass if he ever did that again so he promised he would never. See, all good :)

Thanks to all about replying .

I emailed them and I hope for the best. I told the truth. It's the best I could do.

Well, I do mistakes from time to time, I just hope this will not cost me anything ;) . It's just a $1.79 but I was afraid it will be too easy to triger the fraud system....

I will report as soon as I get email from them. Thanks again for the help.

I promised to let you know about google's reply :

    Hello,

Thank you for your notifying us of the clicks that have been made on your Google ads. Please note that clicking on your own ads for any reason is prohibited, as it has the potential to inflate advertiser costs. We appreciate your efforts toward avoiding such clicks in the future.

For future reference, to check the destination of ads on your page without the risk of invalid clicks, we suggest using the AdSense Preview Tool, available here:

    https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/topic.py?topic=160

    Sincerely,

    The Google AdSense Team

Well, I am very happy with Google's reply. I am happy that I chose not to ignore it and to let them know about it . Anyway, it's not fair to do anything else...

Thanks for helping me here... as always...

    Guy

Damn. They always ruin all the fun. This would be more funny:

"Dear publisher you are kicked out because of 2 cents. Goodbye."

You shouldn't have to worry about accidentally clicking on your own ads. A few months back I wrote a Greasemonkey script for Firefox which actually prevents you from clicking on your own ads. You can find it by Googling for prevent accidental adsense clicks (and it's free/open source). I'd post the URL, but I guess I'm too new to this site... Enjoy and stop worrying! :)
