vBSEO - Whats your opinion?

Whats your opinion about vBSEO? Is it worth the money? Has it helped you?

You don't need it. You can easily rank without vBseo. This forum is a prime example.

 

I agree with ForgottenCreature, I don't think vBSEO is a requirement, vB is very SE friendly and I don't think you need vBSEO to improve it however you may want to try some SEO modifications that are available @ vB.org

Yes, it certainly is. vB has a inbuilt META tags editor on the adminCP, I believe you can find that option located under vB options > General Options. I think you should find the option there, ability to edit META tags & description.

Vbulletin options > general settings

 

You don't need that stuff, what you need is good content. If you want to be on the top of certain areas of your niche on search engines then just pay for special google sponsored links.

 

I agree with you Dustin, Content is the king however SEO is a good field and in order to gain a successful rank on the leading search engines out there some minor SEO work is option, however strongly advised.

Mod rewrite for example is a good way to target keywords better, however if you do provide good content it may not be required, but minor SEO changes may help your web site a lot!

I using vBSEO and most topic in my forum show in 1,2st page in google, , my forum PR0#

I have 134 Members and only 42 Threads

make google search "Need.For.Speed.Pro.Street-RELOADED" my forum will show in 1st page., so i thinks vbseo work gr8 for me and worth the money.

 

DigitalPoint ranks for the keywords too, and doesn't use vBSEO.

I bet you DP can rank for those keywords without vBseo.

 

I believe you can get at the same stage using simple SEO modifications available at vB.org if you now plan to get vBSEO you would be much better off just doing some SEO tweaking and installing a few modifications, such as mod_rewrite etc.

Zoints SEO is a great alternative to vBSEO, I would pretty much use Zoints in front of vBSEO.

I am running vbseo right now! And rank on the first page for the best keyword possible for my niche. I own a fishing forum and rank on the 1st page for "fishing forum" and "fishing forums" in a google search. I don't believe that would be possible if I didn't have vbseo. Before vbseo, I had run zoints and the tried the url rewrite from danni web. Both did not produce the same results as vbseo. Keep in mind, the forum is still small, <1000 users.

There are alternatives to installing vbseo, but I don't think they bring the full potential of forums out like vbseo does. For example, I think this forum ranks well only because the amount of posts and users. That is only my opinion. If vbseo was added to this forum, the user base would go through the roof and the revenue potential would be maxed out!

I believe if you want to have great seo from the beginning and show your content to the search engines, then vbseo is right for you!

I can start a fishing forum and make around (100-200) posts and get my site ranked #1 for that keyword, vBSEO may be good package if you are serious about your business, however, I still have some basic knowledge in SEO and in my point of view you can do so much better with the 100$ you spend on vBSEO.

Basically, what you can do is install Zoints SEO along with a mod rewrite mod, and also install a sitemap generator for your forums. Apply any other SE modifications that may help your forum to rank better, lots of them are available at @ vB.org.

With the rest of the 100$ you may build some quality back links with different anchor texts that will help your site get visible for the search engines. Conclusion is, Content is the best SEO method.

DP forums is a fine example of a web site that uses no vBSEO and easily ranks #1 for the threads/posts made in this forum.

What I am saying, watchout, is that I am ranking in a keyword directly associated with the type of site I am running and it's short. Many people brag about ranking number 1 in a keyword and it has 687 characters in it. That was just one example keyword, I also rank well in others and believe it would have been a lot harder with out vbseo. If you have the money, try it!

 

I got the money and I understand your point very clear, trust me. I have a vBSEO license as well, to no use. Why would I give them a linkback if I can achive the keywords I achive without their software?

vBSEO may be good if you are relatively new to the SEO field, if not, I don't think there's a big difference. vBSEO is a software that was created in order to help users gain higher SERP, however you can easily do that with a few tweakings on the vB software, itself.
