    Before anyone shouts at me...............

I have spent the whole holiday season reading every bit of SEO material I could find!! (The family were well chuffed!!).

I am unsure why, when I have a page FULL of a specific key phrase, it doesnt get picked up yet my home page does and it has the same keywords on it as the page with loads of information on it which relate directly to the keywords!

Seems to me that it isnt about the "Organic Growth" of the internet its just about spending hour upon hour trying to find the 'perfect' way to 'cheat' the system!!

Yep, after reading around the SEO section, it's seems that SEO is a war, every man for himself and nice guys finish last.

Arcos, there are dozens of possible reasons.

You might want to post your site in the reviews section.

I understand your frustration, but most SEO tricks are a complete waste of time. I've been at this awhile and I can tell you that most of it comes down to inbound links, genuine original content and non-hyper competitive keywords.

I think the latter is the most important. There was a post a few weeks ago by a newbie who had setup a site on web hosting and was wondering why he couldn't get any traffic - the other 247,000,000 competing sites may have been a factor ;)

I'm continually shocked at sites that have only 10 or 12 pages of good content, but have incredible amounts of traffic. When I analyze their keywords, it's clear they have done their homework and found highly searched terms with relatively few competing sites.

The law of supply and demand strikes again baby...

I have added relevant RSS feeds to each of several product categories for my site. I know GG loves fresh content, but read somewhere that GG hates ridiculous amounts of page updates. With my site, on each of these pages, the user only has to hit F5 to get a new page. Any thoughts on whether multiple pages with RSS feeds which constantly update may harm GG and other SE rankings?
