I know this site is pretty amateurish but I have never made a site before. This will get me going for right now. There is only 1 problem. All my keywords cost 5 dollars to activate. onlinefitnessbooks.com
Weight Loss / Fitness aren't good niches for beginners. Very competitve, hence the expensive keywords Look for something more obscure perhaps? Also do some keyword research 1st so you dont run into any unexpected suprises lol. Good luck!
Your site is not so bad - i've seen worse THIS might be one of the ONLY times I would perhaps suggest getting some adsense ads on there - due the same problem of expensive keywords you outline - flip the scenario so your site is collecting that high price for keys... then get cheaper traffic from 2nd tier providers ie adbrite etc... Good luck to you. NC.
Placing adsense on website with no content will get your adsense account banned and your site have no content.
have a light background color, correct the top banner. better to hide borders for tables. Instead use any light background color. All the Best
Scrap this website, and install wordpress on your domain. Find a good wordpress theme, there's hundreds of amazing wordpress themes you can get for free, and any one of them will convert better than your current website. In your wordpress blog, write 1 post for each individual book. In each post explain the benefits of the book you're reviewing, and tell your reader why they should buy it. Start with 4-6 posts about individual books. Go back to adwords, set up a new campaign, and you should see that clicks will cost a whole lot less.
Nice try with dreamweaver. Try to make you table length shorter. Personally, i dont think it looks nice when the site takes up the whole screen. Also, i think you domain is amazing, and theres a lot of potential. Write some content, buy some links - and do some SEO. Good luck!
That's not Dreamweaver, thats godaddy website tonight. How can you compare the best one withe the worst one? The site is terrible. There is no way for costumer to stay there for more than 10 seconds.
Sorry, but this is misinformation. When Google tells you it'll take $5.00 to activate, that's based on your page's quality score, not on the competition. They don't care about what it's going to take to bid effectively against the competition. In your Adwords account, on the keywords display tab, click on Customize Columns and tell it to show the Quality Score. You'll see right away what's going on. The problem is that your page has no real content about the topic of weight loss and fitness. It just has a bunch of affiliate links. Plus, it has lists of other topics too. Therefore, Google determines that your page is not very relevant to the keywords you want to bid on. That's the reason for the $5.00 activation threshold. To get a better quality score, you have to add quality content (articles, posts) that's relevant to your keywords. That's the only way to effectively use PPC, and it's also the best policy for attracting real traffic (meaning unpaid search engine traffic as opposed to paid). I hope this helps.
Right on SolarCat. Best answers so far that we all can learn from. The internet is about information and Google is also about information. Give them (internet/Google) what they want and you'll have a better chance of getting what you want $. The Adword route is not for amateurs. You can lose money. Try starting with a risk free method of traffic generation such as article marketing.
What's up with the top banner? It looks real messed up. The clicks cost so much because your site is poorly optimized. Now I am not an expert, but to my knowledge the PPC cost depends on how much your competitor is spending per click + how well your page is optimized. Make sure you have a relevant title, meta tags, keywords and maybe add some text to your site (quality content) with keyword phrase repeting at least 2 times per every 100 words. Relevancy is the key to cheap clicks. Just my 0.02$
