Oh a long time ago lol. Close to when they first came out. I just tried applying... i'll see what happens now.
thx everyone, couple of good tips in this lot, particularly the js for frame removal and the point that adsense is poor for celebs, will look into adbrite. cheers
When I did search on Google for the paris hilton keyword I found two advertisers paying for Ads via Adwords. This would tell me it is not worth pursuing as a niche...I know from experience as well, as I picked up a celeb site when their Television show debuted. Had it taken off the site may have as well...when the person is in the news traffic and earnings pick up, but its very miniscule compared to other topics / niches / categories you could choose. Health is a huge area with good revenues and you can easily focus on a topic and do well... Search on webmd.com for common ailments people need help with colds flu asthma etc pick one build out a reference site with ads and cj or clickbank products Peace!
Yes but as I said, its the click value Im interested in improving not the click numbers. If I doubled my click count without improving the click value, it would hardly make any difference.
i also have celebrity blogs and I get very low pay per click .01-.10 cents. i get many clicks but i don't earn that well. before though i used to get $20 a day in adsense from 1 celebrity site only (girls dash 101 dot blogspot dot com) Now its so tough that getting a dollar is so so hard. Can I use that script for blogger?
I too have a celebrity blog and am getting very little (0.01/0.02) per clicks even though I don't have that many visitors as you - I thought I would give pay per lead adverts a go but haven't found any worth signing up with yet.
If this is fun for you, so why do you expect more earnings? This is an 'entertainment' niche, and you can't expect high earnings, because it is not high paying niche, unless you will get really huge load of traffic.
I think earnings might go down in the future as more sites cater to the keywords that sell, supply and demand, more sites, same amount of advertisers, there is only so much money to spread around
OKay, here's one more trick that i used with high effect. Put only ONE ad, the Rect box after ur title .. ONLY ONE each page, and you will ensure the highest $ from those ads shown. Dont spread out your money making ads to those low CTR areas, let them all zoned in. Trust me, this will definitely bring in more $.
Try to filter low paying ads . Have a look at your site and filter all the ads that appear every now and then. This might work. also try different ad formats add link units too
paris hilton Average CPC to bid on the term $0.28 Google keeps 65% of CPC so $0.18 Leaves you the possibility at most of earning 0.10 per click. Is the hobby worth the effort?
i don't think you will get high paying ads for celebrity site , i got approx 1000 clicks from 7000 impression UV was 1000 and my earnings was $50 i got this amount just from "large rectangle ads at below title" so read "Heat Map"
