Can't find my ad on craigslist

I posted it yesterday, everything seemed to go fine, the link in my email says it's published. But I don't see it in the listings.

Am I missing something? If it got blocked, is there some way to know, and know why?

It was for Native American jewelry. I included a link to this website.

I'll look thru the rules, but I don't see what would've been flaggable... and anyway, the link they sent says the ad is published. I guess I can't expect much communication from a site still stuck on ca. 1995 layout though ;)

CL postings don't post right away. Sometimes it can take up to an hour to see the posting, but it is usually available immediately if you search for it.

in order to avoid spammers they tell them that the ad is displayed, but in reality they do not display it.
Very clever anyway, is this the first time you have ever heard about this technique?

If it's been 2 days, your ad will never be displayed. You are better off submitting again, and again, and again. Try less popular cities.

You ip address was probably blocked.

I did the same thing myself and it happened to me as well. I plan on installing a script to mask my domain ( a sort of tinyurl type address hosted by me):)

But this was the first ad I've ever put on there, and it wasn't spammy or anything. (And by the way I don't see how not telling spammers their ad was rejected dissuades them, but what do I know ;) )

I'll go look over the rules again, but it seems a lot of people are posting all kinds of ads there, strange that my one little one would get rejected so soon. They claim to have no human review process, only user-driven rejections. Is that an untruth too?

It would have been the first time they'd ever seen my IP address; what reason would they have for blocking it?

From your CL account, what was the title of your post? Or at least a small snippet of your sales pitch. Have you tried using google to search for your ad:

site:craigslist.org "your exact ad title here"

I've seen ads slip by my eyes before, especially on more popular pages.

the above is why you are not seeing your ad. I've gone through it myself. To prevent it, I had to change my IP and the wording of my ads.

You must have posted under "jewelry for sale" section and you included a link to your website. Link is not virtually permitted in this section. If you visit this category you will see that less than 5% ads contain link to an website. Perhaps CL is allowing those 5% exception only to make us fool.
Write your domain name as native-american-store.fournotes(dot)com. I hope it will be shown in the listing page. Don't forget to use new title, description and email.
