Hey a friend of mine and I created this website for teens to discuss their lives as well as talk about whatever they want.

We just completed it in the past couple days and now we are trying to see what we can do to make it the best for everyone who goes to it.

Any comments and criticism are completely welcome...

    Heres the link: http://www.speakteen.com

    Thanks in advance!

The orange is just a little light. It's not hard to see but it could be darker.

the only thing about a forum that really matters is how many posts you have, so before starting to promote, add some content by creating multiple accounts for yourself and starting discussions with yourself, make it look lively. going schizophrenic for a few days and developing a multiple personality disorder is the only way to kickstart a forum. once you have the semblance of a few active discussions and posts in the double digits, people will join in.

if there is like only 1 or 0 posts for the forums, people will exit immediately.

Thanks for all the quick replies guys

We are currently looking at the darker shades of orange but we have been focussed mostly on the forum activity and how active it looks...

And to my next point for monosodium, we have been trying to post and get people over the last couple days so if you check back again its not empty and we dont have the empty space that we once did...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to review the site for me!!

didnt like the orange theme , try making it black or grey or any other color that suites the niche
try adding more forums and a arcade to it

The orange theme did not bother me. However, the orange lettering did. I would make it darker and more neutral color.

i thought your site would speak well to teens by giving them the impression it is "their" website...so they feel uninhibited to speak up. Could you add say an image or 2 of friendly-looking teens looking directly at its targeted visitors?

Thanks for the quick replies everyone...

We have made the favicon, an arcade, as well as the recent posts section, and we are currently working on a new layout because you are right its more of a professional site design than a teen one.

Thanks to everyone who has helped out...

Looks alright, but change your left sidebar link color from orange to maybe a darker red or so.

The orange doesnt seem to fit the site quite as well, can you try a different theme? or is it too late?
maybe make it a darker shade.

also as far as the forum goes, since its teen oriented, give teens a reason to join ur site. There are so many teen websites online, there should be a reason to join urs ( A USP , unique selling point ).
get that and you are good to go.
