How do I complain to google

Someone has impersonated me by stealing material from my website and passing it off as their own. They have pasted personal material to a blog published in Tripod, which is part of the Lycos group. At the head and foot of the blog there are google ads and I'm pretty sure that the stolen material would infringe the TOS by itself. How do I report the site to google? The ads say "ads by Google" but the link has been disabled so that you can't click on it to report it. This must be another violation of TOS. I have reported abuse twice to Lycos but nothing has been done about it.

I've tried reporting it using the "report abuse" link at the top of the offending blog but no action has been taken. I haven't had any reply. I have not given the person permission to reproduce the material from my website and whoever it is is pretending to be me. They have added their own name at the head of the material. The Lycos link given above is for people who have websites with Lycos. Tripod is their blog section and has a different link for reporting abuse.

I've just tried replying to the acceptance email but it's come back as message delivery failed.

Similar situation happened to me last year. I reported the theft of my material, with proof, to Lycos. Within 24 hours, Lycos' attorney contacted me and by the next day the offender was shut down. The key is proving it to Lycos. I sent them a link to where my page was recorded by The Wayback Machine (www.archive.org) long before the offender put it on his site and that was enough for Lycos.

Thanks for all your replies. Lycos has now removed the complete blog that this was posted on as it was in breach of their terms and conditions.

I thought there was a law that said as soon as you put your unique content on the web it was automatically copyrighted to you. How do we go about gettting our work copyrighted? Is there some company we have to pay to certify that our word is legit?

I've reported blatent scraped blogger accounts with my content on them. I have emailed Google twice, not had any replies and the scraped sites are still listed in Google a month later. I know that's not the same as impersonating you but I wouldn't hold my breath that they'd take any notice. That's just my experience, hopefully others have had better luck.

    that is 100% correct.

if you register it, tho, you may be able to collect more money in a lawsuit.
