What Happened to Auto Login at DigitalPoint?

I don't remember ever having to log in at DP.
It is controlled by a DP cookie, right?
But, for the last few weeks, I notice that I had to log in to make a post.

I have been using Firefox 1.5.0.11 the entire time. ALL versions of FF 2.0 for the Mac have functionality problems - frequent random freeze-ups are #1, followed by text forms and scroll buttons.

Does anyone know why the "automatic cookie login" doesn't work for me anymore? I am always careful not to delete any cookies from DP.

    Thanks for your help.

I think the cookies eventually expire, maybe they lasted a year or so...

    Hi Colleen,

I logged in a day or so ago, so that should have set a new cookie, right?
Today, I had to log in manually again to post, so . . . ?

    Wow!
    Replys from TWO heavy hitters.

    Hi Samantha,
Uhhhh, maybe not. I feel silly now. I'll go make sure now.

<edit>I'm back. THIS time I DID check the "Remember Me" box (I didn't before, thank you).
Then I logged out, and I got the message "All cookies cleared".
When I returned, I was not "remembered", and had to log in again.

Perhaps, I am not supposed to "Log Out"? Could this be it?

My "heavy hitter" comment was meant as a compliment. I sure didn't mean anything else.

Maybe I should have said "highly respected posters", or "knowledgable members", or something of that sort. That's what I meant.

    OK.
    Logged in again.
    Posted again.
    Did NOT log out.
    Quit Firefox.
    Started Firefox again.
    Opened DP bookmark.
Once again, I was not logged in.
However, I was recognized at the bottom in the "Currently Viewing This Thread" section. So, DP knows I am here, but did not log me in.

The problem persists. Weird. Haven't seen this problem in years of posting.

Cleared everything, still no cigar. Thanks for your help.

Looks like paidhosting got it right, with his very helpful comment. I'm done here.
