What is the biggest mistake?

I run adsence and have been for about 1 1/2 years. When I first placed it on my site I was getting a few bucks a day. Now I am surprised if I get 5 cents in a day. I believe that the income in the beginning was due to spammers working their way to my forums and also maybe search engine crawlers. I am working on a big face lift for my site that will hopefully bring in more visitors and have them stay on the site longer.

I was just wondering, what do you think is the biggest mistake people make with adsence?

The biggest mistake IMO is not to read the TOS, this is the source of many mistakes

In my opinion probably spelling it wrong!!

Seriously, I don't go for adsense at all, it clutters my sites up and has little rewards. Some people make it work, good on them but I like to keep my sites clean and tidy.

The biggest mistake is people believe they will earned lots of revenue with zero work. To build a successful website buisness you will probably work more than a normal 8 hour weekly job. Between optimizing code, marketing, SEO, etc you'll find working at home isn't as sweet as it sounds.

Biggest mistake... Standing still. The game is always moving, learn new techniques, create new content, add new sites. You can't rest on what you did yesterday. (That the way life is, you have to adapt.)

My thought exactly, you need to work hard all of the time. You need to keep going back changing stuff anding new content every single day. You need to find new ways to bring in continuous streams of traffic.

It is hard and the big bucks wont come in over night.

i think biggest mistake is ignoring the quality of your website's content. you can't expect earn same money as you earned first day if you're not adding anything new or if you don't have something that would make visitors come back to your website.

one of the biggest mistakes is ignoring the option that lets you ban URLs.

I think the biggest mistake is not putting the time needed into maintaining your site once you have it up and going. I suppose not really knowing just how much work and time you have to put into a home business.
