    Hi there!

In the past several weeks there was a believable rumor about that Google is going to stop showing Google PageRank! Instead, Google is going to implement Google Visitor Rating (VR). (Several known news portals wrote about that. Sorry I don't have those links to give them here.)

What do you think about all this?

    Can you just imagine:
    1. How seriously this will harm all people who sell links from high PR pages? Those who have whole networks with high PR websites can become just bankrupt.
    2. How seriously this will harm if not all, then most SEO tools? A lot of SEO tool portals may also become bankrupt because most of their tools are based on Google PageRank again!
    3. How seriously this will complicate SEO and website promotion in general? It will become even more difficult to get high rankings on Google since before you at least were able to consider PR, and get backlinks from high PR pages. And what now? Now you won’t have even this anymore!

If this is NOT just a rumor, if this is really going to happen, what do you guys think about all this?

How do you think will the SEO World change without the Google PR?

Where did you get this information (rumor) from? I have had heard a number of several rumors myself and honestly i think PR is not going anywhere. I mean look what they did with payperpost, they have more power and authority over everyone else. Instead you should think of other alternatives and methods to survive.

Not this again :( I've seen this rumour here at least 5 times in the last month... THere is a reason why it's called just a "rumour".

The only thing that would change is the number of dumb PR post and the little green bar will be gone if you use it in the first place.

"How do you think will the SEO World change without the Google PR?"

It would not affect the SEO world at all, you optimise your site for better position in G's SERPS you don't optimise your site for better PR do you?

Since I start with Adsense, I never care PR. the important thing is "Content"

Content is King and Link is Queen! If you have good content you will get high PR and high Visitor Rating (VR) also.

    :)

I dont think it is true. And ofcource, PR does not affect rankings okay? I had a PR4 but still ranked at 4th page, and had PR3 but ranks 2nd for a keyword. If you target keywords, onpage optimization, keyword ranking increases. Etc. Sorry, not a seo geek :p

    People will adapt.

It probably won't be a problem.

Plus, nobody should rely on one source of income for any business.

Hasn't this thread been posted a number of times...???????????????

I wish DP had a duplicate search function, where if a thread title has been posted already, users wouldn't be able to start another thread.
I get so tired of 500 free e-book threads, and 300 pr threads..

Please try to find those news story URL's. With such a hot topic, it would help to see the full information and squash the rumor comments. As of this point though, I see it as just a rumor.

We can still use the PR not only in selling/buying links but for exchanging link as well. Some webmasters required a PR on your site before they will exchange link with you.
