Submitting to Directories worth it?

Oh, update.... If any one want this directory list, PM me your email address and I will sent it to you. But please note, it have duplicates, non working sites, paid directories, unwanted text removal etc.. You have to make a good list from this file......

 

Would some experienced folks help out a noob in defiining what is a quality. I'm working in the free directory area. It a PR3 good enough for quality, or what else should I be looking for?

 

Definitely worth spending the time to submit to free directories.

Make sure you use variations on your Title and Description so that you don't have the same listing over and over!

 

Directory Submission is worth. You will get Traffic from Directories.

get as many submissions as u can...will improve your site rankings fast...and if your site earns u money why not give a small procent % to submissions programs or services...it's a good strategy nevertheless....

 

someone once told me, or did I read it somewhere there is a "short cut" way on how to submit to different directories easily?

 

You can use any directory submitting software to do that...

Right click and save to your computer. As I early said, this list contains duplicates, unwanted text like headings, descriptions etc., paid directories, non working sites etc... This list is just for your information only. If you have some spare time, you can make a good list from this... I copied the urls from many sites including DP, but dont have the time to correct and check the urls.....

Thanks man, I know the list is full of crap, duplicated entries etc.... Pardon please.... I am trying to make a good list from it.... The best software I found is AllSubmitter from http://webloganalyzer.biz/eng/products.html

 

Remember guys quality comes in front of quantity. Directory Critic has a great list of free web directories that you may want to check out.

well don't expect wonders from directory submission but I still feels that Directory submission is one of the easiest way of having web presence. If you are offering some commercial service and targeting some long tail phrase or localized keyword, directory submission can easily get you on top of serps very easily. But of course, automated submission is useless and I will advice you to change the anchor and description for like once in every 100 directories.

1. Some dir may be apply robots to make hits to "reward" listed sites.

2. The common enthusiasm about dirs shows that the most of replies are from dir owners.

Most dirs are no more than payable link-farms.

 

I was wondering if manual submissions are better than automated submissions?

 

The softwares have semi-automatic and automatic function. In semi-automatic, you need to select categories, type captcha etc.... manually. I did not used automatic function and I guess all things will happen automatically. Also the softwares are integrated with Internet Explorer, that means, your submissions will feel like you are using Internet Explorer.

 

Submitting directories with anchor text would suggest better serp.
