How exactly do you get indexed by MSN?
Sorry if this is the 100th thread :D

MSN has a filter that can be triggered by non-relevant backlinks. If this happens, you aren't going to have any pages show up - i.e. banned. How old is your website?

Unless your site doesn't have any or a few backlinks, I think your site is banned - and it's near impossible to get anyone at msn to tell you why or reverse it.

Where on MSN would you do that?

I don't see why MSN would ban my websites, I also have a few more that are not indexed

MSN is usually very fast in indexing new sites. If you have done a lot of link exchanges or have too many links from non-relevant sites, it trips their filter and bans the site. Their search technology is really poor - which may be why their percentage of web search is so low. A couple of years ago, you could easily manipulate a top ranking with msn by getting any backlink - this new algorithm was an attempt to go after those sites - but wound up hitting a lot of sites that don't deserve it.

I think age of site must play a factor. Most of my newer sites aren't indexed (or banned?) by msn. But my yahoo and google visitors like them just fine.

I have this old site which ranks very well in MSN only ... for some Very generic 2 and 3 word travel terms. But the traffic is still so low it only brings in a few bucks a month, lol. Not worth worrying about IMO.

I agree, MSN used to like fresh sites. Now if they get too many links...into the dumper.

Seems kinda to me that like if your sites about home remodeling then you relaly need sites with similar topics but if you put your home building sites on say pet supplies website for example.. it doesnt help quit as much.. And then after so many irrelevant ones it starts to go against you instead of helping.. *mabye*

People get a million links and do good on google and yahoo then on msn they suck and wonder why.. i think thats why..

As for me im not that heavy into link building but the links i do get are all kinda like or at least share some keywords as mine..

Everything is conjejcter but thats the feeling i gets anyway when we all discuss our feelings and share i think thats when we get better.. kind of like A.A. lol :)

Maybe you need to develop more links to your site? I have no problem getting my new sites indexed in Live.

    @ Shazz

Live just released Webmaster Center Beta. Here you can go and see if your site is banned, submit a XML sitemap, etc. This will give you more info then just submitting your site to be indexed...

    http://webmaster.live.com

I wrote a brief article on Live Search Webmaster Center. Maybe you will find it useful, but since it is new much is to be learned...

    Good luck

My keywords pop up on MSN but it won't detect it on any page rank checker. I guess it really dosen't matter
