What is the best excuse if I'm late for work

I need to know what are the usual excuse you normally tell your boss if your late for work.

depends if you take the train to work or not...

 

My car wouldn't start boss.

 

being honest is the best. If you overslept, just say sorry to your boss and swear it won't happened again.

otherwise blame the traffic/train delay

 

The toilet exploded and I had to wait for the plumber.
Or... The dog ate my mobile phone and I had to take her to the vet. Or... My Auntie Aggie's pacemaker shortcuited - hell of a mess!

I take the bus, and my boss knows traffic isn't exactly avoidable and busses are quite reliable.

When I oversleep I just tell me boss, he don't mind.

 

I have never had to make an escuse for being late for work....but for class yes. Usually the best bet is to tell the truth (it also secures a promotion in the long run) but if you must lie the "police stoped me for random inspection" always seems to work...

 

After my classmate didn't get out from the bed on time, he stepped into a class 5 minutes before the end of the first hour, which was funny enough already. He went directly to the teacher and said: I'm sorry, I...I..errr...I'm late. It was accepted well by all (lool), including the teacher.

I'm the supervisor of my section...my boss works one floor up at the other end of the building...

so i don't really have to worry about it

i never late to office except during rainy day, my excuse been acceptable since im a rider

regularly happen during study time, to be honest my one and only excuse is overslept and also acceptable due to it come with a letter from my doctor that i got insomnia.

 

had to drop my sister on the way, or had to get the gas filled or had to stop on the way at the pharmacy to buy some medicine...

 

I was trying to decide if I wanted to quit or not this morning took a lot longer then I thought

 

"I tried to decide to go to work or stay at home with my husband !!!" -> The boss can not accuse you !

 

I was trying to decide which excuse to use, if I'll be late, and it took me more than I thought.

 

tell them you wish not to get into details but you were on the throne for thirty minutes and you didnt plan for that this morning..

it always works, puke or poo, they wont ask anymore questions
