No, I kept a check more than 5 months...
I guess the checks expire after a year

You can cash it anytime within 6 months of the issue date.

Abhik is right, checks are good for only 6 months after issue date.

According to my knowledge a check which paied any body (x,y,z,) expires after 12 monthes.
I some time deposit my checks in my account after many monthes after receiving them in my office.

It depends many checks expire after 3 months, and many after 6 months. If it is 3 months it will usually say this on the check.

You should cash a check within 2 months of issue date. If your bank is outside USA, it will take 30 days for the bank to mail and clear the check. That would be 3 months. It also depends on your bank. They won't take unnecessary risk to cash an expired check.

If you are in the United States I see no reason why you'd recieve checks over direct deposit. Unless you want to take a picture of you with your massive check like Shoemoney.

If there isn't any expire date on the check itself then you are fairly safe, i would still deposit any check as soon as I could just makes sense
