    Getting a thousand hits in a day is relatively easy with a linkbait piece. Sustain 1,000 hits a day, I supose, would be hard.

    That is true, but if you concentrate on getting relevant backlinks and providing good content your traffic will continue to grow. My top site gets 1400 to 2000 unique visitors (not hits) per day and this number has increased every month since I created the site.

    I get 140+ a day, but I want thousands a day :D. I'm waiting for my security book to come so I can write a lot of security articles, that no sites have that would be interesting.
