    Hi,
I have a website which I dediced to change to a different script. All the SEO is the same (titles...description...keywords...content.) with only one difference. When I try to see my source in the IE or Firefox, I see symbols which are shown due to the fact that the page is encoded with ioncube.

How do you think this would affect my SEO in general? I am aware that crawlers need to have access to the source of webpages.

If you are seeing encoded text with IE or Firefox, you either aren't accessing the page over the internet or your server doesn't have IonCube or Zend installed. IonCube/Zend process encrypted php source code and OUTPUT normal, unencrypted HTML.

The only bearing that IonCude/Zend encoding might have on a page is the server response time (it's an extra layer of processing to render your page), but in my experience, it's been pretty negligible.

I use some scripts with IonCube/Zend encryption and have not had any problems with them.
