Cool :) i began to take notice of some older stuff about 5 years ago, was too young to appreciate the good bands during their time, but i now enjoy Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple...

Better late than never i guess. :)

YES! Jethro Tull is excellent stuff. Everyone who reads this should also be sure to also check out other groups like pipes has mentioned Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple

    LucianoFigallo, absolutely. :)

kentuckyslone, i have a particular favourite song of Pink Floyd called Shine on you crazy diamond, very deep, very moving, i love it.

Listening to The Doors is more recent for me, all of those mentioned are geniuses in what they do :) its a shame some of them passed away so young.

I especially wonder how it would of been had Jimi Hendrix been around longer to release more material.

Maybe they were meant to only be here briefly, i sometimes think that.

I LOVED early Tull. Up until 'Broadsword and the Beast' I bought all the early albums. Saw them twice, both times at Hammersmith Odeon in London.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond is an amazing tune. I find that you get the full impact of Pink Floyd albums by actually listening to the whole album in one sitting. Have you heard their album Animals? I find it to be one of their lesser-appreciated albums.

You can only wonder at what Hendrix could have accomplished had he lived longer. Fortunately, he lives on through his music which influences nearly everyone who picks up a guitar.

I dont think ive heard that album yet, i will get hold of it soon.

Your right Hendrix does live on through other musicians he has inspired so many.

When I first heard the name Jethro Tull, I thought it was the name of some hick country singer!

    Boy, was I ever wrong.

A great band with great albums, that's for sure!

My dad likes them. He gave me the music he has of theirs a while back, not really listened to it though. Might do that now, kind of feel like listening to something new.

    Oh, absolutely!

They are now one of my favorite bands believe it or not.

I'm surprised they aren't given more credit or respect.

But check this - them performing on the stones rock n roll circus - and the guitarist is Tony Iommi, just before he left to join Black Sabbath
