new definition of a click

I've just learned that google has changed the definition of a klick on adsense ad

only clicks on the title or url will count so clicks on the background will no longer count

google made this change "to reduce accidental clicks and increase value for advertisers."

I don't know when this will be applicable but I'm sure i'll be soon

what do you think about this?

Thats stupid, people click on the ad in general when they want to see it. This is google being smart.

Regardless of where someone clicks on the ad, text or not, if the visitor is taken away from our site, we should be paid accordingly.

If Google is going to change this policy, then it needs to make only the title and url clickable.

If this is going to bring extra value to advertiser by reducing accidental clicks, then Google needs to reward the publishers as well.

Instead of focusing on this stuff, Google needs to start optimizing ads. We can only block so many ads from appearing. It's not like Google can't figure out which ads draw more clicks. Allow an option to auto-optimize for any given channel so that Adsense learns which ads work better on any given channel.

Yes, this will definitely reduce the earnings :( I wonder what is next on Google's mind... How can Google collect money from advertisers and not to pay publishers... I should submit this idea to Google, maybe they would send me a gift of kind ;)

I'm curious as to why CPC would rise because of this.

This is not a good measure ...this one is the best , what Google should do ? to pay us if somebody click the last points of the ads description...
If Google will make this move hope Yahoo to come with a surprise for Google and his monopoly
