    I see signature links have made a comeback.....Google is showing quite a few of these this time around.
    I changed the anchor text in the signature link on my Forum two weeks ago and notice Google has picked it up already.

    Hmm ... i cant answer this ... but i can tell you that all 2900 BL of mine reported in google are paid BL :)

    Well ... all those paid BL still haven't pull me out of the box which is full of sand.

    I think G is just weird about links, but they haven't really done and "update" yet.

    ops checked again a few mins later,, back to new amount.

    Nice Christmas present from Google :mad: today all my sites have lost a lot of backlinks, in most cases more than half.

    I'm thinking it could be the COOP links that have gone :(

    I thought that this Backlinks Update would have been in Jan, so i didnt upload my pages.

    I uploaded 3000Pages today regarding Articles and i missed the Indexing :(.

    May be i have to wait till the next update.

    OK so can someone please explain to me why anyone in this thread cares about how many links Google shows you have? The number is meaningless as Google only shows you a % of your total links and that % is random. So you can't even compare two competing sites to try and gauge the difference. Anything that the Google link command says is worthless in that it doesn't tell you the whole story. It may say that you have lost links but you really gained and vice versa. There is no way to know. Use a different engine to keep track of your total links as both Yahoo and MSN are MUCH more accurate.

    From the links I see to my site, I think google checks all backlinks and then list only those which are least relevant and have the lowest PR... at least this is what I see for most of my sites ;)

    You have a point. I think it is kinda like PR, almost useless. However it does confirm you have backlinks according to Google which is always a good thing. :D
