The conventional wisdon about color of the ads and borders for as long as I can remember has been that the ads should not stand out. The same bit of wisdom has it that if it looks like the rest of the text, it might be taken for a part of the content and maybe (maybe) even looked at and hopefully clicked at. I cannot help noticing that the very board where I was first reading this a couple of years ago, Digital Point, has their AdSense ads in absolutely contrasting colors. Is this a trendy new trend I missed or they are still testing? Shawn? Anyways, what's your favorite color scheme these days, blended or standing out?
I don't know how to voted because i using both placement. It depend on our site design. I usually blend it if it's navigation
to blend - as fan addict said - it'll look ugly, unless of course you make it work with the color scheme but then it'll be blended lol
Agree with blended..I didn't get any clicks until I decide to blend my ads. Then within a few days I started getting clicks.
I have voted blend in. Recently a few people have suggested I make my ads stand out. My CTR dropped from around 1% to 0.10%!!!! NOt had good experiences with making ads stand out. Sparxxx
after Blending my adds i have to revert back to unblended one (blue color for hyperlink ) as Clicks were less for earlier one
I usually go with blended but I read a report where if you put it in bright colors like yellow's, red, orange and made them pop out that you got a higher conversion. Weirdly enough if you look at the top of Digital Point those are the colors that are being used so I guess I could make an argument for both blending and non blending
You should have blue as the hyper link wether blended or not in most cases. People associate blue text as links and are more likely to click
Blended for me. I have tried both, and the results are nowhere close. I created a 300x250 zone in OpenAds to alternate between a well blended box that matched surrounding text, as well as a contrasting box with matching colors, and a box of a different color scheme all together. The earnings on the two non-blended boxes were about 15% of what the blended box was... After a week or so, I stopped wasting impressions and went to all blended!
i choose blended, especially when dealing with ads link unit. its much more good to use blended one, if you have unique color schema
Blend if they are in between content and page .............. stand out if at extreme top or bottom of page.... depends!
depends on position and site I reckon - if you are aiming at absolute internet newbies then blend - similarly rather than make the site ugly blending is usually a good idea. But digital point still does fine with their not blended ads I am sure!
