Coincidentally, I found this in the All Other Tools Forum just yesterday. I haven't used it yet, but it looks quite useful.

I recently launched an affiliate site that I feel may be helpful to readers

I researched several of the top keyword tools on the market and created a comparison chart which shows the different features of each. I also interviewed some of the developers to make sure the chart is accurate.

    You can find it here:

    http://www.keywordresearching.com/compare.php

I like Adwords Analyzer personally - very easy to use and does most things you need.

Keyword Elite is also very good.

Not as good as your brain though :)

    Cheers

I think Goodkeywords is a great free tool and Google's own tool has improved a lot. I also think Wordtracker is great but all of these only help a creative mind - which is really the best keyword research tool.

Some of my best campaigns have less then 20 keywords in them. So here is what I do. I will use inventory.overture.com to see if a market exists. Yes I know the data is old, but it still shows market trends. Then I will use freekeywords.wordtracker.com to get a better understanding of the keywords. From there I may use the paid version of word tracker to expand my list. Again, it doesn't take a lot of keywords to be successful.

    Thanks
    Greg

I use keyworddiscovery, free version of wordtracker, and also Keyword Elite.

Keyword Elite works with sources that ask for quite a few captcha's slowing it down. How about Keyword Analyzer.. better yet, anyone using both?

The grey matter between your ears is number one.

The free keyword tool from google is number two.

Just because you can generate a list of 10,000 to 50,000+ doesn't mean you should. Of course the keyword generating software companies want you to believe you need them so they sell more product.

Definitely Google Adwords, its the best keyword suggestion tool that will help to choose the best of the best keywords for your website. Wordtracker is also a good one but its a paid site. So, small website owner can't afford it, google adwords tool is basically a free tool to use.
