Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

Real miserable for my sites. All I can do now is try to push forward SOMEHOW in the serps because I can no longer understand how to get a higher PR.

 

I have had mixed results on the PR update.

Some sites are up while others are down. I am far more concerned about the Google SERPS than I am PR.

I went from PR6 to PR5, but my earnings have gone up. Seems like a non-event to me then.

 

The whole PR system is down right now.

 

My site had a forged pagerank because it was owned by someone else, and after the update, I was supposed to have a legit PR. It dropped to 0 and now its back to 3, but its still forged

 

Yeah, I thought it was just my site until I read your post and then checked other sites. Apparently it's been down most of the day. It'll be interesting to see what happens tommorrow.

PR has no direct connection to SERP. And your earnings is based on your traffic. Well ranking keyword can drive you a traffic, so meaning PR has no connection to earnings at all if you did not sell links.

 

It seems that 6 months is the longest update of PR at Google.

 

The #1 site in Google for the KWP “Phoenix Real Estate” is a PR3.

This is a VERY competitive term in a highly competitive market.

That should demonstrate the importance (or lack of) when considering PR.

the google PR is down for most of the day and it still is, my guess is that they are reworking the algo's and that we all can expect this sudden surprise PR update to take place within the next 2 days or even sooner. Maybe Google is doing away with PR altogether but that does not make any sense as that would hurt their baby 'adwords'.anyway hope that the PR would back soon,try and check for the PR of google and yahoo at any pr checker, their current PR is at 0! the google data centers are all down!

Why do you say is down? Because the tools used to check the pr don't work? My toolbar show the correct pr. for my 2 cents, i believe that some of the pr tools are baned ( in the worst case ) or google made some modifications in pr query of their servers.

 

My PR2 site is Now PR10

 

I'm quite happy with mine as three fairly new sites jumped to PR2. Older sites are much the same as they were before.

 

what the , google has reset the PR of domains again, they updated about 10 days ago , now again reset to older values , check ur PR , my 2 domains were updated to PR1 , now they both are PR0 again.

 

I had several sites go from PR0 to PR3, and one go from 0 to 4. But the bad news is two of my sites went from 4 down to 2. My SE rankings look about the same, and have had minor traffic drops.
