Has anyone ever applied/received a business loan for their internet business?

I won't mention the business name, but yes, we (as in my family) have applied and successfully received a business loan for website & program development. This was way back in 2002 when we were just starting out, but the investment definitely has paid off. ;)

I tried applying for a personal loan but I didn't say it is for an internet venture. Online business is not a big hit with banks where I am from.

Most internet loans are available only in US and Canada so I haven't tried yet...

Why not you go to your local bank then you say that you need money for your business?

No, I don't think it would be that much harder than traditional ones though, just make sure you know what you're talking about and prove that you're able to return their investment and you're cooking. I would be shocked if most banks invest purely on the idea, so long as the idea isn't bad, I should think they give a lot more thought on the individual and the preparation they've taken.
