Link Sales Section

Would it be possible to split up the Link Sales section into several subforums? The reason I ask is because the section is so active that threads fall off the front page within the span of an hour or two, making it a little more difficult for sellers.

At it's simplest, maybe WTB section and WTS section?

Alternatively,

WTB
WTS PR2 and Under
WTS PR3-4
WTS PR5-6
WTS PR7+

This would spread things out a little bit, making it easier for sellers to keep their posting up a little longer, and at the same time, as a buyer, it would be easier to sift through and go straight to the type of site you may be looking to buy from.

spreading out the Link section may make things easier.
but don't count on that happening as it will create more work for an already overworked staff of moderators.

 

the way I see it, it should be easy to setup if this installation is remotely like any standard forum. Create 2 or 3 subforums. Keep the main forum but prevent new posts. For a couple of weeks, users check the original forum in case they miss anything, and after 30 days, move all threads from the original forum to a vault of sorts.

I'd be more than willing to deal with a week's worth of having to check two forums.

I don't think anyone would expect the moderators to sort though the existing threads and split them up, that's not what we're asking.

Many suggestions have been made about splitting the link sales forum. I think a great first step would be just a seperate forum for buying and one for selling. Breaking it down by page rank would not be a very good idea because gooogle is against selling page rank and breaking down forums like that would be screaming for gooogle to hang-out there and penalize sites.

 

Link selling in any form isn't liked by Google, so at the very least be glad there's even such a section on DP.
