The market is absolutely saturated. 'Worth a shot' won't cut it. It's all or nothing and the competition is ferocious. They use massive amounts of bandwidth. Lots (most) Myspace resource sites use Photobucket Pro. My thinking exactly. Brainrot, spam and rip-off are good adjectives for the myspace 'scene'. I disagree, at least to begin with. You could probably get away with 10k - 12k uniques per day on a decent shared host before it became a problem and you had to upgrade the hosting to VPS or dedicated. Again, I disagree because it's overly optimistic. FEW myspace webmasters make good money. Some make okay money and some don't make any at all. Agreed. You need huuuge amounts of traffic to make decent money on Myspace resource sites. Not exactly a dropout. I believe it was a business decision as it was impossible to keep up with school and her business. Ashley got into the Myspace scene very early and has pursued a unique vision for her site (whateverlife.com).
Exactly. Her myspace site was created 3 years ago. The first myspace webmasters that got involved with the myspace scene 2 - 3 years ago made a ton. From $50,000 to making more than $500,000 like Ashley. She made a smart business decision from the beginning. Incorrect. One of myspace sites is pulling 2,000 - 3,000 unique visitors and making $20 - $50/day. Not really. Building a content-rich myspace site can attract users. I disagree with you here - unless the shared hosting provider is very reliable. I was getting 6,000 daily unique visitors and my shared hosting provider decided to pull me.
Sure, it can but the market is sooo saturated it really needs a unique perspective and vision in order to break into the 'myspace scene' now. And you did say 'rich'. Splitting hairs on this one. I did say I disagreed at least to begin with.
Exactly. It's soo saturated, but that doesn't mean you still can't make money. If you exchange links with high-traffic myspace sites that are in your niche, then you should be fine, right? Myspacepros is a great place to find relevant links, it's a huge myspace webmaster community.
As someone said earlier, try valueclick if you have a decent amount of traffic. Bandwidth shouldn't be a real problem because you can host images on a premium photobucket account
