Anyone know of any? Tonnes of sites about it saying I'm gona kill myself so consult a gp etc , but I haven't came across a forum and could use one. Thanks.
http://www.uncommonforum.com/ is a good forum to refer to regarding psychology (including depression).
depends what you are trying to say, we have people on DP that can help you. but taking the piss is something else. i know sites for people that cut themselves.
Are those sites pro-cutting.. support sites or support to get over it? Is it all underground? Just curious because I've seen pro-ana site's that apparently are going "underground" now.
Cheers for the link, are their any other forums more populated? I don't plan on taking the piss samantha.
www.RecoverYourLife.com (formerly RuinYourLife.com), known as RYL its a site that is fully backed by recovering self harmers, and has had an hour long TV Doc on the site made by a major UK TV stations and supported by the members who also took part in it. [edit] selfharm is almost 90% females and 70% sexual abuse related
Be strong is all that I can say. I've depressive people in my own family and life is hell to be with them all day along in the same house. At least for the sake of my close ones, I would always try to be a man and stand the heat no matter how bleak the situation appears. I don'tr know your domestic situation but if it's a no-strings attached friend you want to pour your heart into, you can add me on instant messenger. You're welcome with open heart.
Check out these forums, I usually visit them when I get depressed. http://forums.menshealth.com/eve/forums
These forums suck, no one seems to want to talk, wouldn't surprise me if they think I'm completely crazy to have so many damn issues. Considering its supposed to be a support forum they don't do much to support you, the best they could do is see a doctor!
A big healthboards forum has a depression section also. It's a patient-to-patient forum, where more than teaching someone, sharing your experience is appreciated.
Hey Mike, sometimes talking to people about these issues does help.. I know it did when I went through clinical depression. The best would be a therapist since they know the right questions to ask and make us reflect.. If you want, you can add me on msn
Hi Mike, I have recently created a new forum for people with phobias and it has now gone on to cater people with depression, anxiety and OCD. Of course its not yet overly populated as I only created it 5 months ago but one thing I do pride myself in is the friendly atmosphere on there and everyones willingness to help. I have a couple of psychologists online to offer advice and soon to be many more specialists helping out. I joined here to get help in expanding it and developing it as im very new to all this but if I can help you out here I would only be too pleased. Let me know your thoughts. The site is in my avatar as I havent been a member long enough for a link yet. Take care Jonny
