This is my first of many articles that I'll write on how to generate money from your myspace site. It's not hard to generate income from your own myspace site, however; you need to test your ad placement at all times. Ads that are on the left side of your content usually perform the best - as do leaderboards, but if your myspace site has a lot of indexed pages and a high PR, then you can sell text links on your myspace site for at least $30/month. Say you have 10 link spots available and you can find buyers at $30/month, that's $300/month just from link sales. Let's say you have a quality content-rich myspace site with great ad placement and your page ctr is at least 3% with an eCPM of over $3 you're looking at over $50/day or so just from 100 - 200 clicks. Remember, the higher eCPM with adsense, the more money you'll make per click. CTR should also be pretty high if you want to make money. On-site optimization: Don't you know the top sites that rank for "myspace codes" on google generate over $400/day in daily revenue? Not only do they use Adsense, they also use Valueclick - which is a CPM ad network that pays it publishers per impression. So, the more pageviews your myspace site receives and the higher its CPM is, the more money you'll make. Remember, creating a myspace site isn't easy and monetization sure as hell isn't either. But if you learn to diverse your income from your myspace site, you'll be well on way to becoming a myspace millionaire. Just because we rely on adsense and other monetization methods, you could try Azoogle and try to promote their affiliate offers - and get paid when your users do the affiliate offers. We haven't had any luck with affiliates yet, but I'm sure you could find a way to generate money from your myspace site using the CPA action.
very interesting, thanks for the post. However I have been concerned that the myspace scene is a rather flooded niche, is this incorrect? Is it worth trying to get a piece of the myspace pie? I have been thinking about this and also proxies and for both niches I think they are too flooded, but maybe that's my loss.
Yes, it's flooded but there's still money to be earnt. My buddy at http://www.myspacerevenue.net/ tells you everything on how to generate money from your myspace site. It's not a loss, it's a business. Hop on the bandwagon before it's too late. You can easily generate over $50/day with your myspace site. Hire promoters, buy links and go from there. Design a quality content myspace site and you should be fine.
Some good info ForgottenCreature .... I would also recommend checking out www.myspacepros.com, it's a forum devoted to people who own sites related to the Myspace, and other social networking sites niche. You can learn a lot from the people over there, there is a ton of information from people who earn thousands of $ a day from their Myspace related sites. One thing though, you have to join as a member to access a lot of the Forums there, but it is free and there is no advertising, not even Adsense. Myspace is only one site, don't forget there are thousands of clones out there now which opperate in a similar manner to Myspace. So if you do it right there is a lot of money to be earn't from the collective sites.
Wonderful response mate. Myspace pros is for any myspace webmaster - it's very active and provides you with a ton of articles to help your myspace site suceed. Isn't kyle (owner of myspacegeeks) a member there? He makes $2,500 a day.
Websites about myspace is what they mean. I was confused as well. As for earning money with a site about myspace, You'd probably have better luck ranking for viagra.
I'm interesting in reading about these monetization options (p.s. see my sig if you need a script for starting your own myspace site)
