Competition is successfully using SEO that is against Google TOS!

My competition has been using SEO techniques that are against Google’s TOS. Things such as filling the bottom of pages with hidden text, using keyword stuffing in frames, search engines see a different page than users and so on.

Surprisingly they have had real success with it! For the last 8 months they have top 10 positions on premium search terms. Every week I wonder if Google is going to stop them, but it doesn’t! Now they have even gone further, by registering multiple domains with the same content. Again to my surprise, now 3 of the top 10 search results lead to the same page! And Google has not banned this practice.

So why isn’t Google doing anything about this?

 

You can report these violations to Google, search there help database, I'm sure you'll find a reporting URL. This is your best course of action, trust me all sites get caught sooner or later.

I have noticed that it happens a lot, after a large decline in 2006. I wonder if Google has stoped som automated software.

Its seems to work real good! I have done a small research and found over 50 websites in top 10 positions, for high traffic keywords.

 

How competitive are the keywords? With less competitive keywords onsite factors play a bigger role in ranking on Google.

 

Why yessir, yes it does. Maybe not the frames part, but standard cloaking is still my bread and butter. My oldest site has survived about 50-60 days now, with 12,000 pages of (targeted)gibberish indexed.

Google is pretty bad at identifying blackhats. Report em, or they probably will never figure it out. Although make sure your craps in line perfectly too; some blackhats get resentful and report all their competition for menial things like buying links. Or a variety of other things.

 

yes i as well think some of the older techniques work for some keywords but if you move into the real big competitive keywords this will not help you. and sooner or later they will get caught.

They are not as competitive as terms such as "viagra" "online marketing" "credit card". But my site is in the top 10 to 20 range, and it gets around 1600 visitors a month from that one keyword.

Another term cost 3,50 USD to be in the top 5 for Google Adwords. This term also has a few spam sites in the top 10 for organic results.

So I find both keywords competitive.

 

Anything where blackhats take the time to saturate the top 10 is pretty darn competitive.

 

Please do not post any urls, as this will directly show on the website statistics of that site. I have not reported anything to Google. My question is more in general of why Google allows this, while it was mor strict in 2006.

Click the above link and you will see the top 10 searches. Now just go trew the top 10 and view their sourcecode. Depending on the datacenter. 4 out of 10 use seo that is against tos.

Only 4/10? God, almost everything short of handing out flyers at your local grocery store is against TOS nowadays.
And Google does not allow this kind of stuff. It's just hard to detect, and everyone's getting better at hiding it. They rely 99% on manual spam reports.

 

That was an example of a search term, that for local Dutch market is a bit competitive. I did not post the one I was talking about, because I don't want my competition to see this post and take it personally.

Yet horecameubilair is a b2b term, that according to Goolge and Yahoo keyword tool, it is a well searched term.

 

Maybe it's just me, but I thought such coding would defenitly be detected in 2007. Its the kind of stuffing you would see amateures <2004. Yet it's good for a 2nd position in Google.nl

An amateur job to be sure. They have to allow such things, in case the person is making a list of something. But still..damn...that is circa 2004.

 

Keyword stuffing does work . Go onto google and search for "$1" (no pun intended)

And there result like this

Typically the only time that you will see sites getting penalized for these tactics is whee Google performs the "handjob". That usually doesn't happen unless the URL has been reported.
