How bad are irrelevent paid links?

    Hi all,

I'm wondering just how bad it is to have paid links (textlinkads, textlinkbrokers) to a site that is irrelevent to our site.

We have a travel website, http://ianandwendy.com , and you'll see on our home page we have ads for some mortgage lender and "free games", TLB and TLA, respectively. They pay ok - we're struggling to monetize so we're having a hard time turning anyone down.

But last thing I want to do is to scare off other higher-value link partners or cost us in search engine rankings.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks

I think theres better value in relevant links.. not that irrelevant links from high pr/authority site will do total damage either :)
