Major Problem with Directories Submission

I have seen 1 major problem with directories. The Problem is..........
The directories are not updating the PageRank of submitted websites.
If today we submit a PR0 website to directory, then say after 3 months or so if PR of submitted website increases, even then these directories are showing the old PR for links.

Heck im thinking off getting rid off that "PR rating" and making it in order by date submitted
as PR has no reflection on anything and a flawed system Imho.

But to answer your question they dont have the mod installed or havent got to it yet...

    thx

    I wouldn't call that a "major" problem.
As Malcolm said, either they just didn't update it yet or have the mod to do it.

The "major" problem I see is that too many people are focused on this pr and has created it to be this "must have" when it's just a personal tool that only 1SE is using and may not even be around in a few years. People are judging whether or not you have a quality site based on this system and that's a "major" problem! People are selling ad space/links and basing their price on this system and thats a "major" problem!

You should care as much as having pr as much as having those little green rep bars. They don't mean anything regarding the quality and practice of yourself or your website.

    Thanks.

In my directory, the listings are sorted by date.

By the way, while sorting by PR, it seems not fair to me sending a new, weak PR0 website to the deep of "n"th page. In that system, the most powerful websites with high PR get the most benefit because of being listed on the 1st page and the weak ones just get lost.

Hmm, a Catch-22, you have directory owners who are now prepared to remove anything to do with PR and forget all about it, but the directory submitters will still be looking for their PR and anything to do with it.

Half of the submitters out there don't care whether we display their PR or not, that is why people are thinking of removing it.

Yes agreed, there are still plenty.... the other half that do still care though are mostly made up of those people who still think that PR has some sort of importance.

I did that a long time ago. It is the best way to do it, IMO. Too bad google got rid of my PR as well

Personally, I have never used the PR rating.

Looking at this type of thing - I do not think shopping, arts, lifestyle etc type of websites are that interested in the PR rating thing going on.

If it is made available for the directory category then I guess this would work as visitors to the directory category could be looking for just that!
