My site has been nulled by the update. Link selling is about to be completely nuked by algorithm / Google dance changes.

Man I am stuffed? Time to find a new industry...

two of my pr7 went to pr4 ,probably for selling links. But I dont recomment you throw in the towel, stop the paid links and develop the website.it obviously was worth something to google without the paid link, just build on that.

Might have to drop sold links and apply for "Request Reconsideration" in Google webmaster tools. Could get you your PR7 back.

It's BS - Man Google is being an absolute dick, they really are biting the hands that feed them, who are they going to look after ? US as webmasters - not likely or the end consumer ? The every day Joe who stumbles around the net - well good luck getting money out of them.

    Really sucks bud'.

Got a dog ? I'd go kick it and then come back and join the rest of us, for the internet fun and pleasures (or try finding them).

A jump from PR7 to 0 is some what huge, although in all honesty PR is a waste of time as is... if you're only aim is to obtain better PR then the reasons for it are because you're probably wanting to sell something based on that PR rank... look at the bigger picture and concentrate on SERPs!

    Sorry to hear that man.
I would suggest wait until all this chaos gets over.
I have seen some people lost PR, then got it back after few days. Hopefully you would see the same case.

My PR is/was high because I run a large forum and had powerful backlinks.

I knew the easy cash from link selling wouldn't last forever thats why I moved away from full dependency. My Adbrite ads should cover server expenses but with very little profit.

Google is alienating a great many people with this move, I feel. They have already stood on my toes with adsense, by wrongfully banning me, leaving me 1000 USD out of pocket for a months earnings.

    Not a happy chappy.

It is huge drop and I wonder how they know about sold links. It will take lots of time to find out about each website or webpage.

How many links were you selling on your sites every month and how often were you adding new ones and removing the old ones? Did you try making the links no-follow?

Thats a good piece of advise.

14 outgoing links, footer of every page. Added or removed one or two each month depending on new customers or leaving old customers. Probably most I ever had was around 25.

Didn't use nofollow because I didn't know about it and the primary purpose of the links is to give the link owners PR.

Well not really if his PR was for selling links only, having back a PR7 and not being able to sell links than what would be the use of his PR?

More than a PR drop i'd say PR wipe, sorry to hear that but Google has to protect its own interests and thats what they are doing.

with the drop in PR, did you see a drop in traffic or rankings?.......I've been reading a lot about it in the last 24 hours and it seems the PR bar means even less now...

I somehow doubt request consideration would work. After, why do want to have any PR at all except to sell links. If your whole site is banned and de-indexed, then it is another matter.

I have had 200 sites downgraded including a PR7 that was downgraded to 4. Perhaps I was too blatant and will be more careful in future. However, I am worried that Google might have used IP and WHOIS data to find our sites.
