Signature Links

Hey, I was just wondering if you have 10,000 posts and then you add your website, forums, blog etc link to your signature link. Will this count as 10,000 links into your website?

I am unsure about this, and I needed to ask. I am thinking if you leave the same link in the signature for a long time, and produce quality posts they will get reconized and will count towards links into a website.

    Thanks,
    BlueEew.

They count as links to site but might not add much Pr to site. You should put the links in your signature now so you get traffic and links do not all show up at one time.

Okay thanks for the quick reply. I have a forum where I have 12,000 posts myself. Only if that was on another forum, these is no point liking to myself on my own forum lol.

    Thanks guys.

They might help your PR but they are unlikely to help your rankings much. Google is pretty clever at spotting unnatural links.

They are technically 12,000 backlinks. But you also need the bot to revisit the oldest posts to update its cached version and count the link.

They will help in your PR and ranking, but not too much. If you need PR and rankings do not solely depend on signature links.

They would def show up as backlinks, but wouldnt help your PR. But who really cares that much about PR these days.

sig on forums and blogs are counted as backlinks but still depends on the site's code/structure if the 'rel=nofollow' attribute is included, Google wont consider them as backlinks...

The only problem is that no one wants none DigitalPoint links aswell, gaming links are never wanted in my opinion. I have tried selling gaming links before, but I have no look. This is what I don't get, if people know signature links include as backlinks. Why isn't anyone intrested in buying them?

beacuse they are old and cashed... so the bots dont go back months on old forum post so even if you change your links many of the old links will stay the same to the search engine... ie they wont pick up the change... i have tried changing my text links and many of the old old ones still show up when I find posts on the search engines...

I personally dont think its worth it as much as a normal site with backlinks. Of course with forums, theres going to be a lot more than are pointless.

you are right but google will not find all of the backlinks in one day. for example, if i add one link to my signature , google will find nearly 60-100 links per day. so google will find all of the link in months:)

If I was to add a link to my forum, on my forum. Would Google still use these links for my forum?

They do not add a significant effect on PR or rankings, but they will send you lots of traffic, get your pages indexed VERY quickly, and also raise the authority of your website/domain. (It is considered a powerful link popularity booster). Combined with natural link building of a few high PR links, and a lot of little forum links, your site will do well.

Okay thanks for that, I guess I don't need a signature then lol. I have 12,000 posts though , maybe when I move to vBulletin and get the forums looking good, and get the traffic, seo, and proper advertising going. Maybe I will be able to sell links for some good dollar.
