How to know if a link is good or bad? how to measure link value? Formerly, pr play a most important role in estimating a link value. and now?

    check the following factor
    - link must be relevant to your site
    - less outbound links should be there
    - page must be indexed by search engines

these are the basic things which help to count value of link

I wouldnt say PR is dead but it agree it probably isnt the best indicator of a websites link value.

Relevant inbound links will always be good. Using common sense is probably the best approach. If its a high quality site then the link will be god, if its just itll be junk.. Plain and simple :)

    Good Luck

It seems to be a commonly re-curring argument: is pr dead or not? I personally have not seen any effect to competitors who have lost pr on the last update. I neither saw increase or decrease on my sites, so it is difficult for me to say.

jg_abad made some valid checks to make. I think this is about all you can do until things come clearer regarding pr.

it is a little bit difficult to assess the value of a link.

These days many people buy links or cross linking their own sites to get pr.

Although I believe pr is a good indication of link value but it is not the only one.

You should be careful of spammy, cross linking inbound links. I strongly believe leaving comments on authority sites or good quality sites (even with nofollow) is a very effective way to get reliable and good back links. (nofollow attribute only does not transfer the pr of site, but google and other search engines consider it as back link.

please check this story to find out more.

Pr isn't dead. They have simply reduced the PR of those whom they suspected of selling links.

Can you tell me what are those sites? And do you use anchor text in your comments?

there are many blogs you can leave comment, just simply type your keyword and find blogs on top of serps, or search through google blog search or if you have money you can buy tools available to find blogs.

The only point is you should leave related and quality comment.
