I've been trying out the new video adsense units and I was wondering if anyone else was annoyed by, or at least noticed, that the video units is doubling the number of page impressions I get. Since my page impressions are skyrocketing without adding actual 'page impressions', my ctr has been cut in half. I hope that google isn't going to turn around and penalize me for that drop. The other complaint I have is the lack of customization for channels. I have the video units on several different URL channels, but I can't tell which ones are being successful and which ones aren't since video units covers all of them and I can't tell which ads are coming from the video units and which aren't. What's your impression?
I have not personally used the video ads myself. My advice regarding being penalized would be to first search through the AdSense Groups for answers, and then email the AdSense team with your questions.
I doubt that we'll be penalized in the long run for using them, but in the short period I'm not sure if they have adjusted their other algorithms. Either way I would prefer to keep my numbers stable. I track my performance and doubling the page impressions is really bothering me. remotay: So far I haven't been too impressed by them. Which is why I would like to focus them more on those pages where it would be worth it to do so. If I can't, then I'll most likely pull them.
