WidgetBucks Vs. Adsense

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by Pacific Publishing, Oct 29, 2007.

I'm testing a WidgetBucks skyscraper on my directory; take a look at the bottom right of the home page - www.5business.net.

Are these adds offensive to a directory visitor? Anyone know what the best performing WidgetBucks categories are? Thanks.

    WB blows because it's flash-based. =)

I don't think they are offensive, but just don't expect too many clicks from it. It's too low and usually webmasters ignore ads, and your traffic will mostly be webmasters.

I am getting a click rate average of 0.85% on one of my blogs. I don't think that there is WB vs Adsense situation, they are complementary. Despite having a very poor CTR on widget bucks, I still stick to them because there are almost no ad networks that actually make you money (besides adsense) when you are getting less than 5k visitors a day.
I've tried with Bidvertiser and Adbrite, and I couldn't obtain a single penny.
So I personally recommend Widget Bucks to everyone, until of course, we find out that they don't pay in term, or don't pay at all, or cancel the account just before ussuing the payment.
However, they seem to be a lot clearer with the whole "Invalid Clicks" situation. There is one post in their blog that says very clear how they detect these clicks, kudos to WB for that. Adsense doesn't say a word about this, and I personally think it's totally wrong.
    My two cents.:)

WP isn't all that good. Adsense is better and has better payouts.

It has to relate to content just like adsense. If not, it won't do so well, if at all.

WB can convert really well on certain sites. Gadget blogs for example. Others be much worse than Adsense. General rule is to experiment :D

WidgetBucks is a Scam ... I don't think they will pay ... I was using WidgetBucks ads on one of my blog ...it was showing for few days but now ads are completely disappeared ..I e-mail the WidgetBucks help team ... now it's become a week still i'm waiting for their answer .. i can login to my account as usual but can't see ads on my blog ...There is no comparison b/w adsense and WidgetBucks ... because adsense rulez over the internet ... while WidgetBucks is giving few bucks for free to attract some users ...& i think it's a bad way of markeeting ...If they are really intrested in their program then they should provide some support for the member ~ so my opinion is to keep your ass away from this shit !!

i tried it for a few days, but it fails big time to convert.

The main reason is - its slow like hell. (even after they updated the code)

It take atleast 4 to 5 secs to "Load the Ad", and by that time your visitors would have already navigated away!

Again, not sure about the payments etc... (took some calculated risk!)

Will continue to run it for a few more days (around 10% of my pages show wb ads).... and see how it works.

this is one of the reasons why I got rid of it (the other is that it seemed to have wiped out 90% of my earnings for no reason whatsoever during the 2nd week). I wonder if it converts better at the bottom of the page? By the time your readers get to it, it will have loaded :D
