Hello there, Just wondering if anyone can help me by giving few advices about how to estimate a domain's price. Any ideas, any tools you use etc.. I want to buy a domain for a new site and I've found few good ones that are listed for sale and need to decide how much to bid.. thanks, Michael
if it is a short domain (ie less than 4 chars) there are guidelines you can follow, as set out at www.3character.com Other than that it gets tricky coz a lot of it depends on finding the right buyer (apart from popular words like racing.com etc which are pretty much guaranteed to go for loads)
It depends. You should consider lenght, extension, does it make sense, overture, and traffic just to state the main ways. It also depends how well it fits your website and how bad you want it.
if you want to know any website worth go to websoutlook.com It is a great website that tells worth and all the informations you need to know such as Alexa rank,Statistics, Backlinks ,etc.
I just checked and they said my domain was worth $53,000. Another site said $159,000. However the site has been generating $300,000/year in commissions so these estimates are way off and seem to only be based on ad revenue potential instead of business/commission income potential. And I've barely taken advantage of the potential of the domain so these estimates are very flawed. But still interesting.
