Its a premium directory so google assumes that yahoo wont accept SPAM/MFA sites for the sake of making money.

Ever tried to include a MFA site on yahoo directory? Go check their $299 inclusion policy. This policy safeguards them from google ban. It says even if you pay $299, it does not guarantee a listing.

What this means is, you are not buying the link on their directory but only expediting the procedure. Makes sense?

    Reps appreciated!

It's a secret agreement between Google and Yahoo, a pact of non aggression: Yahoo doesn't compete with AdSense while pretending to be about to release his network worldwide to keep off competition and Google doesn't create Google Games, Google Greetings and doesn't penalize Yahoo directory. :)

Google likes directories that charge a fee yet do not accept all websites.

Its like the police and townwatch working together.

In fact Google tells webmasters to submit to Yahoo directory.

Right, but they reject sites, which then says they maintain a quality directory, most people who can afford $300.00 for the chance to be listed there would also appear to be attempting to run a serious business, therefore Google trusts them, and allows their directory to pass out PR to the sites that were included.

In addition buying and selling links for traffic is fine.

Traffic is all you should be after anyway..

Go look at businesses outside.....what are they looking for???

    Traffic?

1st rule of business is location

    why?

    Location = traffic

Forget links, forget PR, forget any propaganda Google spreads, or any other BS, and focus on building a business..

It will do your bank account good...

    :)

I've read the thread and I still have the same question as you have. Why?

My guess is that this PR change has nothing to do with buying and selling links. Could it be about exchanges? Or, ah...maybe...Yahoo don't buy paid links? Selling is ok but buying is not?

I guess any site could say that...after all...you charge for your work and not the bits representing the text. Yahoo accept almost all sites who pay...and almost none that don't pay. I don't see any difference.

I guarantee you there are a ton of casino, mesothelomia, free whatever, link directory, mfa and many others that Yahoo does not allow into their directory.

This is another that Google likes

    http://botw.org/ PR7

    http://www.webworldindex.com/ PR6

    http://www.joeant.com/ PR6

I dont see why it is so hard to understand the concept.

Seriously, I dont understand why people dont understand simple concept.

When yahoo clearly says that they wont accept your site unless its complies to the rules and regulations. Secondly they clearly say even if you pay $299, it does not guarantee a inclusion.

isnt that enuff to claim thats it a trusted premium directory.

Why dont all directory owners, just state this. They would be regarded as a good directory by google. But no one wants to loose their potential customer?

maybe because Yahoo is not buying links.....

most of the directories that got penalized were buying links to boost PR and then selling links to other sites for PR.

    Yahoo's PR is hard earned.
