Hi all, Im absolutely a newbie. This is my first post in this forum. Im sure this has been addressed before. How to write keywords in the Meta tags that are read only as exact phrases. e.g. keyword- "my voip" should be considered only if someone searches with "my voiP", with quotes as exact string, and not when someone searches for "my" or "home"? Someone please have the patience to help me Andy
ok. I get that. But how to differentiate between "my", "voip", and "my voip"? like I said, im new... need to be hit with a hammer to get it through
Use commas. Here is an example of a friends websites metas: <meta name="keywords" content="Skatersocks, tube socks, striped tube socks, knee socks, basketball socks, old school striped tube socks, striped socks, knee high socks, sock tube, arm warmers, leg warmers, vintage socks, retro socks, knee sock"> Good luck !
thanx... in the above example you have the word "tube" in tube socks, striped tube socks, old school striped tube socks, sock tube..... Now that does result in the word "tube" being considered as repitations??? in the way that the example is written, is "old school striped tube socks" considered a phrase, i.e. if someone searches with "old", or "school" it would still turn up as a result?... if yes, how do I stop this from happening? I want to put a keyword phrase like "my home", which only should come up when someone searches with that exact phrase, and not with "my", or "home" Am i making sense at all?.... or do i need a cigarrette? Andy
my question is if I have a keyword like "my home", does it make sence to also include "my" and "home" as separate keywords, since both these words are taken care of in the phrase "my home"??? anyways, thanks a lot for your patience guys
Quite honestly, you are spending way to much time obsessing over meta tags . If you spend this much time developing the content of your site, you will see much better results then anything meta tags can ever do for you (in terms of ranking in the search engines). Many sites don't even bother with meta tags any more. My suggestion is to "view the source" of some websites that you like and take a look at what they are doing.
