Blog story written 20 mins ago listed as #3 link on google?

Hey, I just wrote a blog post about the Oink website raid, and I put some links to other sites not even trackbacks, and I searched for a keyword and my blog was already listed as #3 on the main page for the search of this two word keyword.

Anyone able to explain this to me? Ive also made the main page for an article I wrote yesterday on myspace mp3s.

I'd like to know what I'm doing right! AND is this a common thing to happen?

This is temporary one ,you will soon find it disappearing from serps!

 

Google can be a c**k tease sometimes to blogs. They'll find them selves almost instantly finding themselves excellent SERPs, only to have it drop back to normal in a few days.

Hopefully your that one exception we never hear about that gets to keep the SERPs

 

well, i've seen temporary boost before but never so fast. even temporary, i say find out what you did and repeat that with another article. if you can make it to to same position with every article or almost all article you write/post, then who cares if it goes down in ranking in few days? by then you have couple of more article on the top! and don;t forget to share about what u did right

 

It's because Wordpress pings Google they index very fast, maybe you can rank because the Oink story is new.

And damn, Oink was so good, I am sad that it's gone.

 

Yea i ping lots of things, and I digged the story but to get instantly ranked before everyone else who already had a story was super strange to me. And im getting this for so many keywords when i check my stats on my site. I'll figure out what I'm doing right and share it with everyone for sure!

Still ranked, this is weird, I'm only now checking all my stats and I haven't written a post on katharine mcphee in a lonngggg time but I'm ranked 8th for "katharine mcphee bikini" on google STILL. I didnt even make a post with dense keywords or anything along those lines. does anyone have any insight into this on how i can check to see what I'm doing right? My google PR dropped over the last update and now im rankin high on lots of keywords?

Is google drunk? haha, any input is greatly appreciated and thanks again everyone!

 

yeah, give it a while and it will gradually drop until it disappear drops out of the realms useful SERP. Savour the moment while it lasts
I recently wrote an article for a site criticising the 2012 Olympics in London, I was joyed when it was on the first page for "2012 Olympics". The next time I checked it had gone into the lower realms of user reach.

 

But you did write one at some point of time, right ? Or you possibly have an image which others link to ?

 

Yea i did write on on her but nothing about a bikini, I hope it stays up everyone, but you're probably right about it dropping off but atleast it is giving me some good traffic now! I'll keep you updated

It's just a coincidence. Maybe after you post your article googlebot is schedule to crawl your blog. It happen to me before after 30 min. of posting the article has been crawled quickly.

 

Google is very efficient... unfortunatley, yu will have to enjoy your SERP while it lasts.

 

I had my pr0 tech related website getting listed on the #3 search result for a competive keyword but it lasted only for 2 days .

 

it may be the blog html code is more perfecf than you website!

 

i think this is just accidental opportunity, make it full use of it and promote more to stay on top.
