I was wondering if i put a affiliate link in my sig in a relevant forum, will I get banned? I am getting mixed messages. When i searched some people say you would and some people say you wont? What is it?

    Thanks,

Once you have enough posts to have a sig you may place affiliate links in the signature.

Never put them in the message body.

Looks like you are new. Welcome to DP.

Be sure to read the faq.

haven't really tried putting affiliate links in my sig before maybe it will get me a few sales a year extra. What about CJ and other affiliate services do they allow this or is it just clickbank

The only PPC/PPS type management companies that DON'T allow it are the ones that Pay Per impression or Per Click.... A PPS (Pay Per Sale) allows it, simply because nothing is paid until a sale is made.

CJ (Commission Junction) is a great PPS management company. I have used them over a year now with no problems. Each company / corporation on CJ normally has their own Terms of Use that you must read & agree to prior to applying for permission to market for them.

It's all in the fine print. Good luck!

Beginners? Thats too funny........ In that case, you might as well say that ALL PPC/PPS/CPM/PPL/Adsense/Adwords/Etc.. are for beginners.... They are all based on the same principles.. Not to mention that CJ has the MOST coporate conglomerates as clients (E.G. Wal Mart, Radio Shack, Godaddy, Nike, Microsoft, Adobe, Etc...).... You know, the beginners... :D Too funny...

I needed a laugh today.... Thanks...

If you read the terms and conditions of any forum and it is allowed then you can go ahead and put the affiliate link on your signature.

I would also look at some signatures of other members and see if they are using affiliate links as well

Read every forums rules. Not every forum on the web is owned by the same person or is done the same. We are all different and have different opinions on how to run our forums.

Read the rules of each forum and if it stats that you are not allowed to use them in your sigs, then don't.

Most forums don't allow it I don't think, but some do including DP as far as I know.

Yes, different forums act differently with this act..

Larger forum seems to be more strict on this. Smaller forums are ok especially if you know most of the mods and admin.
